Liu Zuokui: 16+1 Cooperation and the Belt & Road in Central and Eastern Europe

Professor Liu Zuokui （刘作奎） is a Senior Research Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Director of the Department of Central and Eastern European (CEE) Studies at Institute of European Studies, CASS, and the Acting Director of the China-CEE Countries Think Tanks Exchange and Cooperation Network Office. His major research interests include: Central and Eastern European Studies, Balkan Studies, European Union Integration Studies and China-EU Relations. Professor Liu Zuokui has published or edited several books and many articles focused on China-Central and Eastern Europe relations.

On this podcast, Professor Liu provides an overview of China-CEE relations and evaluates the efficiency of the controversial 16+1 China-CEE Cooperation. He also puts his remarks in a wider context of China-Europe engagement under the BRI.
