  1. The General Administration of Customs (GAC) announced new measures Thursday to expedite cargo clearance and cut administrative charges as part of the efforts to facilitate foreign trade. With the new policies, the GAC expects the time for imports and exports clearing by the end of the year will be reduced by a third from that of 2017. In 2021, the clearance of exports will only need 6.15 hours, and 48 hours for imports, half the time needed in 2017. - Read more

  2. New passenger train announced called Diamond Silk Road. It aims to connect Antwerp and Shanghai by a passenger train that will run through 10 other cities including Brussels, Moscow, Ulan Bator and Beijing. - Read more

  3. New big BRI hydro powerstation announced in Indonesia. China Gezhouba Group Investment Holding Co., Ltd. (CGGC) and Indonesia's PT. Lentera Damar Amerta recently signed an EPC contract for a 300MW hydropower station project Central Sulawesi Province.  - Read more

  4. The People's Bank of China, the central bank, and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued regulations on Tuesday to promote bond issuances by foreign institutions in the Chinese mainland interbank bond market (also known as panda bonds).   - Read more

  5. South Africa becomes the latest country to understand the opportunity from Chinese tourists. The country simplify visa requirements for Chinese tourists, beginning from next month, Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom said on Wednesday. - Read more
